Following the long fruitful tradition of poster and demo presentations, UbiComp \/ ISWC 2022 is soliciting submissions for a\u00a0 Posters \/ Demos Program.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">All accepted submissions will be included in UbiComp\/ISWC 2022 Adjunct Proceedings and in the ACM Digital Library. These are not considered to be archival publications; presentation in this venue will not affect the ability for researchers to subsequently publish this work in an archival forum as a conference\/journal paper.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div><div class=\"fusion-text fusion-text-2\" style=\"transform:translate3d(0,0,0);\"><h3><strong>POSTERS<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Posters feature preliminary or exploratory work within the field of ubiquitous and wearable computing, report about smaller projects or results that are still maturing towards a full paper submission, or present any other research that would encourage discussion. The poster session will provide an excellent opportunity for feedback on your early research results and give your ongoing projects early visibility among the academic and industrial audience.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">All posters will be considered for the best poster award. An independent review committee will select the winner at the conference.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div><div class=\"fusion-text fusion-text-3\" style=\"transform:translate3d(0,0,0);\"><h3><strong>DEMOS<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Demos are an integral part of the UbiComp\/ISWC conference. It is an opportunity for you to showcase your early implementations, prototypes, work-in-progress systems, and even commercial products to a broad audience. It is your chance to engage the attendees and media. Whether you are coming with new what-if scenarios, developing new technologies, or using existing ones in novel ways, your submissions are welcome. Demos should be brief and repeatable so that they can be efficiently shown repeatedly to a large number of attendees.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">All demos will be considered for the best demo award. An independent review committee will select the winner at the conference.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div><div class=\"fusion-text fusion-text-4\" style=\"transform:translate3d(0,0,0);\"><h3><b>ATTENDANCE<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/h3>\n<p><b>In-person<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">UbiComp \/ ISWC 2022 is an in-person conference split across two venues. The venues are Cambridge, UK, and Atlanta, US. Because of this, the POSTERS \/ DEMOS session is focused on in-person presentations. There is one POSTERS \/ DEMOS session at each venue, and the participants can choose where to present their work<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Virtual<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">There is also a limited virtual component to enable access across the two venues, to increase exposure, and to enable limited remote participation<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> for the <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">POSTERS \/ DEMOS sessions.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Note: <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">For all accepted submissions,<\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">at least one author should register for the conference.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><b>SUBMISSION<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><b>What to submit<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">An <\/span><b>extended abstract <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">(Required for all submissions). Up to 3 pages, including all figures and references. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Please use the single-column template detailed on the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/ubicomp.org\/ubicomp2022_wp\/cfp\/template-information\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">template-information page<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. One exception from the general guidelines: submissions must *<strong>NOT<\/strong>* be anonymized!<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A <\/span><b>short video <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">(<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Required<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> for virtual presentations once accepted. Optional for in-person presentations) \u2013 <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Up to four minutes and 100 MB. The optional videos can be submitted with the camera-ready version of your accepted submission.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A <\/span><b>demo supplement<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> document (Required for accepted in-person demo presentations). This document can be submitted with the camera-ready version of your accepted submission.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4><b>Extended abstracts<\/b><\/h4>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The abstracts should discuss the novelty and distinguishing ideas or approaches brought to the Ubiquitous Computing \/ ISWC community. The abstract should be self-explanatory, i.e., it must be understandable even without seeing the poster\/demo. Each extended abstract can be up to 3 pages (including all figures and references). <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">After acceptance, the organizers will work with the authors to find the most suitable way to present their work.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">For demo submissions, the extended abstract should convince the reader that the system works (pictures are highly encouraged).\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The review process will be single-blind. Submissions must *NOT* be anonymized! Please make sure that your submitted abstract complies with all the formatting guidelines and is ready for publication if it is accepted; there will be limited time to make major revisions.<\/span><\/p>\n<h4><b>Videos<\/b><\/h4>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Submissions with corresponding videos will be accessible across the two venues during the limited virtual component of the POSTERS \/ DEMOS sessions. Furthermore, UbiComp \/ ISWC 2022 is planning to utilize videos of accepted submissions before and during the conference as promotional material. Videos uploaded for camera-ready submission will be included in the conference proceedings as supplemental material.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">For demo submissions, please note that your video must showcase the working version of the demo system (software or hardware).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The initial video can be of informal quality (it just needs to show the concept). Only the final video submitted with the camera-ready version of your accepted submission will be archived and published on the ACM Digital Library.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Demo supplement<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">For accepted in-person demo presentations, please also include a demo<\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">supplement document containing a description of attendees\u2019 interactions with the demo and the technical requirements of the demo. Note that the conference will at minimum provide you with a space for your demo, including a table, chairs, and a power connection. Participants should bring any special equipment or devices such as power converters, projectors, or audio amplification<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Where to submit<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Submissions should be made electronically through the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/new.precisionconference.com\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Online Submission System (PCS)<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.
