{"id":3398,"date":"2023-09-18T05:26:52","date_gmt":"2023-09-18T05:26:52","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ubicomp.hosting.acm.org\/ubicompiswc2023_wp\/?p=3398"},"modified":"2023-09-18T05:33:37","modified_gmt":"2023-09-18T05:33:37","slug":"sensory-rooms-at-ubicomp-iswc","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ubicomp.hosting.acm.org\/ubicompiswc2023_wp\/sensory-rooms-at-ubicomp-iswc\/","title":{"rendered":"Sensory Rooms to Support All Attendees"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>UbiComp\/ISWC 2023 will provide three Sensory Rooms to support attendees who have additional needs to support neurodivergence, disability or religious practices.<\/p>\n<p>We have created a special place composed by:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The Silence Room<\/li>\n<li>The Quiet Room<\/li>\n<li>The Chill Room<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">Neurodivergence, especially autism, requires differing levels of stimulation for different people. Sometimes, a\u00a0<\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">completely silent space is required for de-stimulation, whereas sometimes space is\u00a0<\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">required to fidget and spend excess energy. Our Sensory Rooms will provide that.
